hi joe just looking at your pics again, why is the steering servos set like that? you can adjust them on the radio. set them to be center, yours are very offset. the filter you are using not the best for offroad driving, you need a dual stage filter oiled and outerwears over it.. if need be i can add some links for you, you live in ireland so rossendale models would be a good place to shop. 4wd is the way to go, more even ditribution of power and less strain on the diffs, avoid landing with full throttle to prolong the life of your diffs and diff casing.for plastic diff casings a diff brace helps alot.
see you have a track in ya back garden, lucky bugger!! whats the other car in the picture? fg? regards fshopups

Hi Fshopups Thanks for all the info, I have the outwears covers ordered, with the servos the set up seemed to like it that way the end points are ok and it has full travel both ways before the stops kick in but will adjust it again, it was the egar to get going ha ha. We had them out yesterday and the centre diff gear and the metal plate it bolts to have come away from the shaft the welds have snapped. so the diff gear will not engage. The slop is terrible in these cars between the centre diff and the rear diff. The pull start came apart on the first run yesterday, man was it an ordeal to get the metal coil back in place then the gasket and the bolts poped out on the exhaust, with a little fixing and some gasket seal it was back running and only blowing a very small bit(until the exhaust gasket gets here). And all went well until the center diff came apart !!!!!!!!!!!! The other car is my mates FG Maurder, and with my wife away for the week we set up two courses with jumps in the garden. The one in the picture is the easies and smoother course while the other one is rougher and longer. The alloy held up well looking forward to testing V2 . Placed an order for the Reely Carbon Fighter last night for ahem spares but they will not have any untill week 28 doh!!. Post up those links anyway please. cheers joe

And also fixed the servos Bring on the sun tomorrow cheers joe

Nice mods Sentenel, and congratulations for your car! Welcome to the forum!
I made on my FS Hummer the homework too that FSMT4WD mentioned for me, to reduce slops, iclude more grease on the diffs and etc. I spent big time too, now everythings works fine and trustful. Thanks FSMT4WD. Yeah, the servos is aligned now. =]
Hey, did you have some videos?
Thanks

Thanks octane and fsmt4wd We took the buggy out but the center diff weld broke again so we stripped the buggy and headed off to get it welded properly and put it all back together and got 5 mins running time. The welds held and the engine revs but the wheels dont move. So we removed the gears and all was ok then the clutch bell and the clutch spun properly and the shoes all moved out correctly. So off came the center diff and brakes. Still not sure whats happening or whats wrong but will strip the whole buggy down next week and see whats up cheers joe

Ok So I strip down the buggy to see what the problem is and found that the rear diff cups were loose on the shafts. So hopefully all will be well now. Also I noticed that the Reely Carbon fighter that i ordered is now out of stock until 10/08/09 so no new car cheers joe

thats usually happens, but it will still spin your wheels even if there are loose, have you checked the internals of your diff??

Hi Guys I've did the diff mod with the grease (will do the new mod next time) and its a great difference to the buggy, I've had problems with the center dif and the brakes locking up. I've rebuilt the car about 6 times at this stage ha ha ha new center diff, new brakes,a c-clip on the gears came of and chewed up the plastic gears so new gears. The center diff really needs a cover i bought an Alloy rear diff cover (FShopups ;-) ) dont think the plastic diff cover will fit the center diff. When it goes 4wd it will need a cover. Took it out last weekend(sorry still no video camera) and after hrs of running the tres give up and split ha ha it was great fun, so ordered up some new tyres Baja tyres from maenner-spielzeug de on ebay I have'nt had time to try them out yet but maybe this weekend ches joe
