last weekend, my fs onroad kept popping the A arm rose joint lower/outer on the front wheel hub on one side, and the A arm rose joint fwd/inner on the chassis- this one eventually cracked the plastic before the day was out... ok, the fs plastic is far more brittle than the mcd- that's a given... so i thought, why not make lower A arms out of aluminium, but with a difference... why not HINGE it, ie replace the chassis rose joints with a pivot pin, the same as the upper control arm (wishbone)... i envisage something like 15mm plate, cut triangular shape similar to the original A arm, hole saw the centre, drill a hole thru for to throgh bolt the outer rose joint, and drill a hole on the chassis end for the pivit bolt, knock up a couple of brackets to support either end of the pivot pin and bingo- a virtually indestructable A arm ;D having far more range in swing movement, you could potentially jack the suspension as high as you'd ever desire sounds good in theory...

sounds like a god idea get to work then i would like to see how looks i have bean looking at this system and had my thoughts about it but im not sure on the hinged system i know mcd use this and others but i prefer the rose joint system as its not connected to the diff house but the way you suggest would be better then there's only chance of damage to the pins and not to the diffs
