Hi again! Made my own 'socks' to protect the shocks from dirt and dust.. I've seen these on other buggies, and thought it might be a good idea! I just used some fabric from an old umbrella, cut some pieces and glued them with rubber glue. Here is the result: They need to be about 2cm longer than the full length of the spring, so you can stuff the ends inside the spring.

sickboy: Yeah, I guess that's the common factor for most of my mods, don't like paying for stuff i can do myself for a fraction of the cost. Spreading my philosophy via this forum :-)
fsmt4wd: go for it! too simple to be worth paying for! :-) Put some glue on all edges to prevent the fabric from ripping. I used a spring to wrap it around when gluing it together.

Good idea i just cut a hole in the base of a bloon slip it over the shocks (sore on the fingers ).Do this x4 very chep shock sox. it may take a few bloons to start with as you tend to rip with your fingers the first few. Hence why i have 2 orange on front 1 red and 1 pink on the rear as i ran out of same colour bloons .Hugh p.s you don't get much tighter than a Scots man

Knee REPLACEMENT!? I got a broken knee that got me back playing with 5th scale cars again, but a knee replacement sounds like a serious modification! One of those 'soccer suckers'? For me it was a motorbike in Thailand.. Not writing much here now, since I'm off the crutches and playing with the full scale V12 twin turbo again.. Some ignition lamps show rpm too, so whoever has need for a ignition lamp too could get one of those. Could be used to check max revs with no load and clutch 'stall rpm'.. Not sure what rev counter you are using? Logger?
