Hi, just wanted to report that i replaced the carb on my car today with a good result. Visited a old man who has been repairing chainsaws all his life, and he had a lot of old parts lying around. He found a box of Stihl/Zama carbs that had the right dimensions for our engine. They are marked S34H 052A. Mounts right on. The 'venturi throat' on this one is 13,5mm compared to the stock 12,5. Got three of those :-) I did not notice any power increase, but the carb was a lot easier to tune and the engine runs better on part throttle now. I also got two smaller Zama carbs with a 8mm throat, but I'm not planning to use these for now.. they should give a better bottom end and mid range though..could be good for slippery conditions like snow/ice.. I don't know what the carbs are from, and he could not remember either.. Finally a pic: Had a good bash with the car this afternoon tuning the new carb, but it's windy and cold, so I was freezing like hell!

Hi all, was wondering what you guys think about the standard carbs? I have had some probs with mine and can't seem to get the car running right. When I eventually get it right the settings seem to change! Any thoughts?
