Hi! I recently got a Carbon Fighter as a 'spare parts car', and the other day I had the diff apart and hot an idea.. The diff will be used in the front of my car to make it 4WD, so I want to try normal 'thin' grease in the diff. Normally this would leak out at the output shafts of the diff, so I wanted to try to seal it off. What i did was to shorten the 'tubes' sticking out of the diff so I could fit a o-ring on each output shaft. There is a groove on the shaft that seats the o-ring perfectly, and the oring seals against the inside of the ball bearing (and a little bit against the drive cup too) I tried to inject the diff with grease with the o-rings fitted, but it was impossible, i had to remove one o-ring to let out the air! So, right now it's definitely sealed, and hopefully it will stay that way Here is a pic (no o-ring fitted): I actually removed too much material on this side, because I had not put in the shims before taking the measurement.. Another note is that the diff gears seems to be changed, there is no risk of the gears 'catching' each other like on the older diff, the rears seem more narrow now than before, so there was no need to chamfer the edges of the diff gears.

Did this ever work? If so can you let me know the size of o ring. I have both diffs out as i rebuild the car(need to order fshopup alloy cases still) or is the thick grease mod good enough?
