Generally they are abt 25cc, read in the engine section, I made some measurements. Don't go to0 big on the carb, size is ok on the stock carb, quality is the problem.. I recommend going to a chainsaw repair-guy and get some old carbs for free. In my opinion the FS engine is not worth the money needed to upgrade with carb, cylinder, piston, crank etc.. I think you're better off buying a complete CY or Zenoah after the FS engine has blown to pieces. Just do inexpensive mods to the FS while it's still running, otherwise you will have a very expensive engine built from CY/Zen parts, or a broke down engine with an expensive carb.. Get the Zen washers for the piston pin, a used carb, round off all sharp edges on cylinder and piston, and run it 'til it breaks down.

im yet to do this, but it on my to-do list, get a brand new FS engine and put a zen27 4 bolt head kit with a 813 carb.. ive heard that it holds up good and is fast..would replace the bearings and crank too i think..

Cheers guys I'm going buy to a Zenoah G270 engine when the FS dies but before that I'm looking at buying a Walbro 813 carb or is that carb too big? Will I have to change the engine mounts so the Zenoah G270 will fit? and will the diff cope with the new engine?

Well..... she died today Need to buy a new engine. Well I'm sure she's dead. When I was out bashing the engine just stopped and when I went to start it again the pull start won't move. It's like there's something jamming it. I think it's dead, what does everyone else think? Now, with the Zen engine what mods do I have to do to the drive shaft and anything else to make it fit in the FSMT? and is the Zenoah G270 engine too much for the stock diffs? With the Zenoah G270 engine, does that mean I need a new pipe to or will the FS pipe do for now? Cheers.

The zen should bolt straight in, only modification i know of is to file a little in the crank casing to clear the prop-shaft under the engine. Pipe should fit too. I'm still running the FS engine, so the others can chime in if there is more.

we fitted a zen27 to a fs, the fs engine mounts on the bottom, the zen too, but the mounts are not in the same position as the FS engine..we used the FS fan cover and pullstarter. also as mentioned the fins need to be removed. see here www.mcdracing.com/media.htmdownload a catalouge and in the begin it shows how to remove the fins, its a bit of work but worth it, the customer who we did this for drives his car like a nitro truck(reckless)and the zen is still going strong

Cool, thanks guys. Looks like an easy mod. I pulled the old engine out and removed the head and the bore has been scored and there was a few very small pieces of metal in there to. I tried to move the flywheel and it was jammed. I used a little force it freed up and spat out what looks like the remants of a washer or bearing case. New engine has just been bought I'll have to use the HPI 5T for the weekend
