Hey guys sorry for my absence. Been tooling with the ten scale sct's till the outdoor track near me was completed. It is completed now so I took out my 5th scales for some practice.
The Cen is different then the Baja5T. As I drove a tank on each one before switching to get a feel. Mind you my Baja I have more experience with, setting it up and such for a track. To the Cen, they are two different animals the Cen feels much heavier when driving, but more planted on straights. It does not feel agile more of a tank then a racer I found (this is comparing it to the 5T which feels more light and maneuverable)
A constant problem I had was throwing the rear dog bones (probably due to using longer shocks in the rear extending the down stroke - using baja fronts on the rear - I know LB's are the best). It was disappointing cause when I was finally getting a rythem down one would shoot out. I think I fixed this by adding some limiting cables from the body mount to the rear hub carrier. As the rear stopped spitting them out once I did this. Then I lost one in the front and that was that. Played for about 20 mins.
Other issues and any suggestions please,
the front bottoms out after jumps. Either I put 60 weight oil in the front shocks as I already added harder springs, any suggestions.
A real downer was the lack of acceleration/overall speed, it doesnt accelerate as hard as my Baja with a gp290. I am using the stock "30cc" with the 4 bolt head. Using the Cen gearing so any suggestions for something to help spool up faster(fshopups) would be nice.
Doesnt Steer as well as I thought it would but could be due to the soft front suspension and/or crappy stock tires.
Will run more testing in the coming months and let you guys know how I did. It will be racing in the open class at the Barnyard against a couple FG's, MCD's and two Elcons if they show up.

keep messing with it..it will come around.. as for the wheels get some hpi adaptors and run one style wheel the engine really is a 26cc not a 30 as for gearing you need 30/30-24/25 steel www.fshopups.com/tuning.htmI bought them from fshopups.. and for the steering do you have two servos really helps.. dont give up it will come around ;D

hi gino welcome back! the engine is not 30cc its 25.5 or something chinese like that lol so it cant be compared to a gp29, as 33 mentioned the hpi adapters (check in my store under 'tuning') and some proline wheels with a gearing of 30 33 23 26 and you will be on your way. Also sell the engine and buy a CY or ZEN, much better. you can always set the droop/ ride height by using O rings or fuel tube inside the shock on the piston so its stops the down travel or outside to stop the up travel. also check how your wheel hubs pivots when the rear shocks are being compressed, if the are going forward then you need to mount the rosejoint underneath not on top.

Thanks for the response guys,
Running your steel gears at that ratio, as well have the hpi adapters on it. Not using them on the front due to the fact it extends the wheel base wider. I found using the extenders on the front cuts down the steering angle, but may have to use them to use the better tires. Going to strap up some limiting cables on the front and use some fuel tube on the front shocks to stop the down travel and losing the dog bones. I fixed a set on the rear and it solved that problem. May even run some heavier shock fluid something around 60 or 65 in the front stock shocks. Already fixed a set of hard springs so that should stiffen it right up. Running two stock baja servos for steering, as I need to make an adapter to fit the two digital bluebird servos on the servo plate(hint hint does FShopups have one for two 57 series servos for steering and a standard for brake throttle??) I have a few crank cases laying around so I may build up another 29 stroker or gp290 as you can usually get a head and piston take off pretty cheap.
The nanotech lipos at hobbyking are awesome in my 10 scale short course trucks.

Pics ..lol sounds like you are on the right track..I have been running excavators on mine all the way around with no problems and way better than stock tires..I also run 5754's [2] for steering ..i am going to trenchers next when I get a engine for it [dam cy junk]...
the bigger cc's will be the ticket with all the moving parts /diffs-4wd.the 28.5 did really well ..
I like the turnigy's lipos do ok for the cost..I really like the dynamite packs now..

The trenchers have worked well on my 5T all last season, was using the new rodeos on the rear of the CEN. Was going to throw them up front to try as well, but with the suspension being so soft in the front figured would give it a once over and try next time. Need more track time as I really think it depends on driving style. The trenchers dig in not much sliding or drifting, where the rodeos were letting the back end of my 5t kick out. But on the CEN it was planted no sliding and really when it comes to the steering just a matter of getting my head around 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive.
For the engine going to yank it out and wait for a dotd at daves and pick up a 29 or 30cc, but if I can't wait innovative hobby has take offs and will just build another 29cc stroker.
