This question was raised on rcuniverse to pwaicon… I am converting my FS to Subaru Rally shell and 6 spoke wheels. Did you use the MCD drive cups for the front and rear hubs for the wheels to fit properly? as the FS axles stick out alot further than then the MCD ones would! pwaicon's reply... No, I didn’t use the MCD parts. It is more than just getting the rear drive shafts/cups; you would need 2 rear drive shafts (001-2-DS-1), 2 complete front CVD drive shafts (003-2-DS-1), and 4 hex drive blocks (063-6-DS-2). It would cost around $200 and I didn’t feel it was worth it. Down the road if I break any of those parts I will probably replace them with the MCD ones. Until then I will be using washers on the wheels to make the MCD wheels work. Alternatively I guess you could have an engineering shop machine the nesessary thread and trim them shorter...

well this should work the way pwaicon said but i would like to see some more detailed fotos it might help also if you were to try and mod the shaft then i suggest to go and get your self a tap and die set they are not that expensive you don't need a machine shop if your a handy man and got a bit of know how

this photo was just of washers packed behind the wheel nut to use the fs axles with mcd wheels and body as a quick fix i'm sure most guys would have followed the lead if they have the knowhow, but not all folk are adventurous with some mods, hence mentioning the machine shop being a boat builder i have full metric and imperial tap n die sets... and when temptation takes hold and i venture to another body (i love the renault migane body) i'm thinking i might by another full set of fs axles and mod them to suit the next body's wheel track... so much fun playing ;D

i ran spacers behind the wheel mounting blocks, and ground new flat spots in the axles. it worked great. didnt spend any money and it functioned great.

yuppers... sorry, the title was supposed to read "mcd wheels on fs axles using mcd body" to keep the narrow track, because the fs axles are longer spacers are needed between the wheel and wheel nut... the next thread was,in my case, running mcd wheels but keeping the wide track for the fs body... then ya, i extended the grub screw flats, and used an identical outer wheel bearing as a space between the block and steer hub and used a slightly thinner nyloc wheel nut... and yes, works a peach! ;D sorry for the confusion mate
