large scale rc race series is getting ready to kick off in the states this summer. i am planning on attending/ racing in the 4wd class at each of these races including the big throw down at diggers dungeon.what do ou guys think of trying to compete in this series with an fs? if i do run an fs i plan on using as many fshopup parts as i can get my hands on! (sponsership? hint, hint!). i dont think an fs could take the abuse that racing puts on a car without some of this stuff. like the old saying you cant win if you dont finish. shocks are an issue but if i have to i will put on mcd ( not that they are much better it is that they are rebuildable). i just wanted to know what some of you thought about running the fs as a serious race car?or should i run my redcat? bty i would be into running the mt class. any input would be appreciated

that sounds like a good idea, go for it, like you say racing will take alot out of these bearings but if you mod it for racing(ie bearings, alu servo plate, steel gears and plate, bettter brake pads, engine etc) then imo it should go just like a mcd would..

that sounds great, i think my cousin will be racing his fs at the one race here (that one has noy been announced yet (so dont tell anyone). it seems though that the diggers dungeon will have the most media coverage.im letting my nieghbor campaign my redcat, so he will be running in the 4wd and the 5b class also. i have no interest in trying to race the 5b. a big narly monster truck sounds great, and i think that this is the class were the fshopups machine will be able to make a statement. you guys are on top of the fs game. after you guys are done with an fs you have exceeded the quality level of the mcd, even the new comp + doesnt have as much going for it. i will be starting a new thread on engines so please check that out also!

i just received my new fs mt! i am looking forward to starting a new build!pretty soon we will see how the fs mod motor is going to perform.i am having trouble finding an alloy gear tower.this is going to be a mad dash to the finish, it is as if the race has akready started, i have to build this truck to race standards and take my family on a 2000 mile(round trip) journey.i have also traded my redcat rampage for a 5bss that i am planning on racing in the 5b class. i am desperately seeking sponsors. imex has (as always) been great to me, and i thank them. as well, i would like to thank all of you guys here for the info you all put up for the benifit of others! keep up the great work!

well today i will start the tear down and rebuild of my fs racer!the first thing i plan on doing is boiling the arms and general disassembling. the diffs on this truck are silky smooth so i will just be refilling them with better grease.the clear body is off to the painters(kind of a waste considering it will be trashed after the race!).i have almost got the fs motor ready to be mounted up as well. it will be running an 813 walbro carb.hopefully we can find a way to get some fs hop ups goodies and decals on this thing before the big day. there will be a mixed breed of machines at this event, i personally know of two mcd ultimates that will be there as well as many redcats. having owned a redcat i can say they are not as solid as the fs is (after the fs has been built correctly). the redcat does handle a bit better, but if it cant finish it cant win.i just wish we had the availability of great aftermarket parts as you guys across the pond.it looks like i will have to run the stock fs shocks,i cant find an alloy gear tower in the u.s. so needless to say things are going great! on the other hand the baja ss i got for the redcat is a monster here is the short list- ddm 28.5 with a ddm DOM side exhaust, hostile high speed gears,1/8 inch fuel line, and some select items from turtle racing. with hostile tires all around. so there is the progress thus far on the way to the dungeon. please offer any and all comments help you can, i think it will be great to put the fs to the test!
i also need a name for the truck any suggestions?

im getting a set of fg wheels and tires for fs racer. they should be perfect.i am still not having any luck on the gear tower. abetter set of shocks would be nice (i may try fg shocks).i also think that being able to run an fs truck at arace of this calbre will be great for the fs name.i have a few leads on some sponsors. so things are going pretty well.
