Yeah, that's quite a common thing to do. On some cars with very long suspension travel (and a bit too short drive shafts), the drive shafts have a tendency to pop out if not centered. Then it's crucial to have small o-rings, pieces of rubber hose, or similar to keep them centered. Had this problem on the front shafts on a 1/8 Kyosho back in the stone age :-) Shafts popped out at full steering lock when suspension was moving at the same time.
Also gets rid of some noise from the shafts moving around. However, I'm not sure it's helps to prevent the drive cups from working themselves loose from the hex shafts.

Yeah, the place is ok, but there are a lot of windows on the houses around, and some cars too, so I have to be careful where i direct the flow of flying stones Would be nice with some steep hill too! The engine sometimes hesitates because of too much fuel, I have been modifying another carb again, and it's not perfectly tuned (yet)

Hehe! Everything survived, even the camera, but my home made front bumper was cracked.. Usually what happens when I try to make it fly.. But this crash was due to a bad take-off flipping the car sideways. Actually the throttle servo was going bad on the video, so it would not hold the throttle fully open.

Took the car to a sandpit today and made some video clips too. Transmission broke in the end, but I was using one the stock plastic main gears that was very worn. The gearing should have been diffrent, or the engine should have more mid range in the sand, it was a bit slow on low revs, but worked well in the higher revs Here is some footage: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlDIEaFTlHMA bit boring since the camera is stationary, the car is out of view most of the time..

Here is a quick test video with modified rear shocks and another small mod to the pipe (shortened it abt 1cm). Engine is running pretty nice now, good midrange and a bit less top end than it used to, but I think it's a good compromize. Not the lowest gearing now, I swapped the two small gears, so top speed is ok as well as acceleration. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEbulKgkqvA

Been playing around with the cylinder left over fom when I blew the piston. I let the dremel do it's thing in the ports.. Here is a video fom when I tested it today. Not a major impovement really, I think the pipe is the key factor to how the engine runs now. Anyway, it's an old cylinder with some marks in it.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dgClFIXkns&feature=channelAnd by the way, it also has the GPM shocks mounted in this video. I have also placed an order for a Rovan baja 290, so another clone should arrive from China pretty soon

sweet sound good but like you said a touch lean ye and i See a little bit of drifting on the asphalt looking good so what's your verdict on the shocks for that trial run

Yeah, drifting on the asphalt is easy with those tires. The sound actually changed after the porting, so it sounds a bit better now The shocks are ok, but I have only used them for abt 20min yet. They might be slightly too hard in the front with FG6000 shock-oil. I tried running ithe car with less caster on the video, so I have problems with understeer. The spacers should definitely be in front of the upper arms for more caster and less understeer.

Here is another one from todays 'testing session' I replaced the clutch spring and removed the silencer on the pipe. The silencer did not do much, but the harder clutch spring from the Carbon Fighter made the car come alive The FS spring was so loose that the clutch was starting to engage at idle.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyvT2pHZ6gs
